MARINE CORPS LEAGUE DETACHMENT #757 SUPPORTS THE YOUNG MARINES PROGRAM...Mission Statement The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the mental, moral, physical development of young Americans. All of its activities, emphasize the importance of honesty, courage, respect, loyalty, dependability, and a sense of devotion to God, Family, Country and Community. The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines is the focal point for the U.S. Marine Corps' youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts. The Young Marines strengthens the lives of America's youth by teaching the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, honoring our veterans, good citizenship, community service, and a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Young Marines learn new skills, and have the ability to earn rank. They earn ribbons in areas such as CPR, swimming, map reading, drug prevention training, conservation, first aid, academic achievement, community service, physical fitness, and many others. Young Marines make a pledge to be drug-free and work hard to encourge family, friends, and schoolmates to share in this commitment.
